We are excited to announce we have been awarded EUR 30,000 funding from SOLUTIONSPlus and City of Kigali to scale our upcoming electric bus pilot program in Kigali.

According to the Global Green Growth Institute, in Rwanda diesel buses account for 40% of total transport emissions and we are proud to contribute to the country’s transition to green mobility. You may already be seeing BasiGo + Tap&Go Electric in testing on the streets of Kigali. We look forward to launching passenger operations very soon. Stay tuned!

We are proud to announce we have secured USD 5 million in debt funding from British International Investment’s Climate Innovation Facility to scale up local assembly of electric buses in Kenya. This debt facility is the first of its kind supporting the electrification of the public transport sector in sub-Saharan Africa .

Having received over 350 reservations from matatu operators in Nairobi, the support of BII will be instrumental in helping us meet the rapidly growing demand for electric buses in Kenya.
